Loch Eskalott is a lake filling the valley in Rivia, near the Kingdom's winter capital. It is known for its fog, which is described as thick, white and disorienting.

The lake is described as having shape of the rune Eskalott. Andrzej Sapkowski did not provide a detailed description of this certain graph, but confessed that the source of the name is Alfred Tennyson's poem The Lady of Shalott.[1]
In the inlet on the southern shore of the basin are the outskirts, the Queen's castle stands on a cape which extends into the lake and the Wiązowo district is located in another cove between the castle and the walls of the city proper.
The mysterious Malus Island, where Ihuarraquax brought Geralt and Yennefer, could be located somewhere in the mists of this lake though it is more likely forms part of another dimension.
