Town The small, but rather important, port city of Kerack is situated at the mouth of the Adalatte river. Since the beginning of 13th century, it has been capital of minor kingdom by the same name. The city is comprised of three distinct and easily distinguished districts.

It is one of main locations in the Season of Storms novel.

On the right bank[ | ]

  • Palmyra - shacks and sheds for the poor and labourers, houses and stalls where hucksters ply their trade, slaughterhouses and shambles, a large number of cafés and brothels which only come to life after dark; Known as an area for both distractions and forbidden pleasures. It is easy to lose your purse or get a knife in the ribs.

On the left bank[ | ]

  • Harbor district - port complex, docks, industrial and commercial center containing the shipyard, workshops, processing plants, warehouses and stores, markets and bazaars
  • Upper Kerack - the city proper, walled by a palisade of thick logs. Quarter consisting of narrow streets between the houses of rich merchants and financiers, factories, banks, pawnshops, cobblers and tailor shops, stores and shops, inns and entertainment venues. The centre of quarter is a quadrangular market square, where the town hall, theater, court, customs house and houses of elite are located. In the middle of the market square there is a statue of Osmyk, the "founder" of the city, despite the fact that the city existed long before he arrived here from Gods know from where.
    • Villa district, with terraces overlooking a cliff, near the sea and the royal palace; the seat of the most influential persons, including Lytta Neyd

  • Castle and royal palace - former temple located on a hill near Upper Kerack, rebuilt and expanded after the departure of its priests, with a campanile and monastery garden
  • Bridge spanning the river, connecting Palmyra with the outskirts of the city proper
  • Guardhouse - the only way to get to Upper Kerack
