Valdo Marx is a poet and musician from Cidaris and a rival of Dandelion. He considered the latter "a talentless wastrel who panders to the taste of the masses." Valdo was the object of Dandelion's first wish in the short story when he discovered a d'jinn in a bottle in the short story "The Last Wish".
