Toxicity

Keep an eye on your Toxicity level! If it gets too high, you'll start to lose Vitality. Potions and decoctions temporarily increase Geralt's level of toxicity. Toxicity deals exactly 0.5% of maximum HP per second. For example, if your maximum HP is 9450 you will receive 47.25 HP/s of damage.

Reducing toxicity[ | ]

To cancel any potion effects and lower Toxicity, drink the White honey potion:

  • White honey – Clears Toxicity and cancels all active potions effects. One charge.
  • Enhanced white honey – Clears Toxicity and cancels all active potions effects. Two charges.
  • Superior white honey – Clears Toxicity and cancels all active potions effects. Five charges.

Counteracting toxicity[ | ]

  • Food can be effective at mitigating toxicity damage early-game
  • Greater glyph of Mending can provide additional regeneration later
  • Troll decoction is very effective at counteracting toxicity, especially outside of combat

Toxicity

In The Witcher 2, projected toxicity is shown during Meditation as Geralt imbibes potions. The total level of toxicity increases for the duration of each potion consumed, effectively limiting how many may be active at once. The least toxic potions have a toxicity of 25 and the most toxic have a toxicity of 50. Geralt cannot consume potions if their combined toxicity exceeds 100, a visual indicator is the toxicity bar turning orange for invalid combinations.
