Roegner of Ebbing
In the year 1237, Roegner was hunting in Erlenwald and got lost. Wandering around the pathless tracts, he fell from his horse into a ravine and sprained his legs. He lay at the bottom of the gully and called for help be but was answered only by predators. He was saved by Duny and as a reward, according to the Law of Surprise, promised him "whatever he had left at home without knowing or expecting it".
By the time Duny returned for his reward, the princess Pavetta, 14 years later, Roegner had passed away.
- In "Time of Contempt" Geralt consulted the lawyers Codringher and Fenn, who then shed some more light on Calanthe and Roegner's relationship. They also revealed, Roegner most possibly was poisoned (by Calanthe) during a plague outbreak 1251(as a cover-up), because he tried to find a new candidate for the throne, since Queen Calanthe had become infertile. Roegner also tried to poison the Queen, so she was very cautious for some time.
- His successor was Eist Tuirseach who married Queen Calanthe 1251.
