Ivar is man the witcher stumbles upon when first reaching Snidhall Isle, a small island north of Ard Skellig. He is being attacked by a second man and if Geralt does not intervene, he will die.
If Geralt saves him, he explains that he had once seduced a Priestess of Freya and that the man who tried to kill him was her brother, bent on revenge. Now he hopes to find some religious precedent to secure her release from her vows so they can be together. To this end, he asks Geralt to find him books about religion.
Later, Geralt will meet Ivar again by the Silverton docks in Novigrad where the latter says he is hoping to sign on to a ship to continue his search for his lost love.
